High Committee is committed to giving cannabis users a voice, and since we began attending various UK Cannabis Events, we have looked into several cannabis clubs in the UK and our obsession with cannabis continued to grow.

For example, we had the good fortune to be invited to the Brighton Cannabis Club event, where we got to know some wonderful people dedicated to changing the cannabis laws in Britain.

When I tell people about the UK’s cannabis social clubs, I am often, if not always, met with the same reply:

‘We have cannabis clubs here in the UK?’

There's a good explanation for this; for years, these organisations have chosen to maintain their anonymity, especially during the harsher periods of drug law enforcement. Many people will recall using seriously harsh methods, such as beating people found in possession of minor amounts of cannabis, however following the conclusion of the Lambeth Experiment in 2001, during which cannabis was essentially decriminalised for a year, we have witnessed a progressive softening of the harsh cannabis regulations (despite the reclassification of cannabis to a class B controlled substance in 2009). People are more likely to acknowledge to being members of cannabis-related organisations now that the public is better informed about the therapeutic advantages and relative safety of cannabis, a substance that is less harmful than alcohol.

A few cannabis clubs reformed a little more than five years ago with the intention of publicly advocating for the legalisation and regulation of cannabis in the UK. There are already more than 80 clubs across the nation, and the number is expanding. The majority of these clubs host events and activities. Some clubs have their own locations that they rent from accommodating landlords. The majority of clubs have between 100 and 150 active members in addition to thousands of affiliated people. Each club is a distinct legal entity with its own registration as a recognised non-profit organisation, and all surplus funds are invested in the growth of the club and its surrounding area.

Cannabis clubs are becoming more popular in the United Kingdom.

There are 50+ cannabis clubs in the UK where people can debate cannabis growing, medicinal uses, and campaigns to legalise it. Members can use cannabis together and have discussions around things such as CBD, terpenes and cultivation.

Many cannabis club members take their cannabis extremely seriously, and they share plant cuttings and examine various goods in the club setting for contaminants. Many people use cannabis as a medicine and help educate others on which plants are most effective for treating various conditions.

Pensioners, students, bankers, and bricklayers all get together in the clubs to openly discuss their shared hobby.

London Cannabis Clubs leader is named Orson Boon. A health practitioner, he revealed what motivated him to assist in starting a club: "Much of my work has been outside of the UK where I have seen how successful cannabis has been on individuals suffering from all types of disorders. I am aware that marijuana can have negative consequences and can be overused, just like anything else. However, when used properly, it tells a quite different tale, he said.

Like many other cannabis users, Orson no longer combines his cannabis and tobacco to smoke. Instead, he steam-inhales the cannabis after vaping it. The cannabis clubs are eager to promote the beneficial health uses of cannabis.

Cannabis is illegal to grow, own, and sell in the UK yet medical studies have shown that it can be used to treat a variety of ailments, most notably chronic pain. The primary goal of the High Committee is to decriminalize cannabis for adult use and make cannabis more readily available via the NHS for serious conditions.
The secondary goal of High Committee is to make cannabis legal to grow at home for personal use.

Now that you know what a cannabis club is, where can you locate one in the UK near you? We wanted to share this useful guidance about founding or joining a cannabis club with our readers.

LIST OF UK CANNABIS CLUBS

Many individuals in the UK might be interested in joining or founding their own Cannabis Social Club. Many people will be curious as to what a Cannabis Social Club is and how it functions given that it's prohibited in the UK. You do not need to be a member of UKCSC in order to start a cannabis club, however it does help people fnd your club and provides an amount of marketing, if you are happy to pay them a fee.

Our clubs host events and promote the development of a national business instead of engaging in the cannabis product trade while attempting to support individual members' endeavours. Our goal is to advocate for a regulated model, legal employment instead of criminal punishment, and to be a face and a voice in the media for individuals who desire the freedom to cultivate cannabis at home without interference from the authorities.

Cannabis Social Clubs in the UK: How to Join or Start One

We believe that working together makes us stronger, and that using a standardised approach to self-improvement will contribute to changing the current situation in the United Kingdom. We have already assisted numerous police departments nationwide in reprioritizing minor cannabis offences in their constabulary. There are already 4 forces in the nation that take this position, and we want to add additional counties with a more logical outlook to this list as the CSC model develops.

Since we began our movement in 2011, there have appeared dozens of Cannabis Social Clubs in the UK that operate on a for-profit basis and do not adhere to our concept. This decision is always up to the individual, and they should be aware of the risks associated with what they are doing anyway. They shouldn't assume that just because there are many clubs operating in the UK in some capacity, it is legal to do so.

We consider running a club an act of civil disobedience and therefore activism in and of itself, but we also recognise first-hand the benefit it brings to our clubs by campaigning in the mainstream and giving hope to those who have not yet found their voices. All UK Cannabis Social Clubs are independently run and choose their own calendars, club decisions, and level of involvement in activism.

How to Join or Start a Cannabis Social Club in the UK

For individuals who want to learn how to take the steps themselves, our clubs have put together the following step-by-step guidance:

Find fellow cannabis advocates
What should I do? Ask your social circle what they think about starting a cannabis social club as a first step. Look to see whether there is a nearby club if you are still on your own in your newfound quest. If so, why not go and volunteer our time or talents? Start a Facebook page and get in touch with us at the UKCSC if you're having no luck there to let people know what you're trying to achieve.

Create a 420 event.
The easiest approach to get people to a demonstration against present drug restrictions is to have it outside if the weather permits. This is the best way for them to join and meet new people. You never know unless you try, but with the present upsurge in support for reform, they should come. You might get a few, you might get a few hundred. You can get some free publicity by letting the media know you are holding it. Why not collaborate with the UPA to host a Patients Perspective Day and invite patients to share their stories? You could also invite the local press to help promote your new club for free if the time of year calls for indoor events.

Create a cannabis committee.
Now that there are enough interested parties, it's time to formally launch your Cannabis Social Club. This often includes a chairperson, membership secretary, and treasurer in addition to members who are in charge of social media, press relations, and event planning. How you choose to manage your clubs in the long run is entirely up to you.

Reach out to your local area.
Numerous cannabis-friendly individuals are already present all around you in the UK's towns and cities. You must inform them of your presence and ascertain how you may cooperate in the future. Even if the answer might not occur to you right immediately, being aware of your local resources is a huge advantage. Sound systems and music collectives, or an event space? A marching band for the 420 celebration or the Global Cannabis March? Private Members Clubs willing to let you use their facilities? Anything 420-related, your headshops, grow shops, and whatever else comes to mind. Just remember to think creatively and critically, rather than just daydreaming.

Engage local customers and supporters and convert them to members.
Create and organise a calendar for the entire year. You can market your future events to members or guests and worry less about achieving a full attendance at the following event if you plan out any activities you wish to hold and allow yourself plenty of time to prepare. Your best ally will be forward planning. Engage the people in your neighbourhood to let them know that you are standing up for them and to explain how their support may assist. Tell them about all the exciting social events that are ready to happen because you are stronger as a team.

We trust that this has helped you have a better understanding of the goals and strategies of the UK Cannabis Social Clubs. Our main objectives are to have fun and give back to the people in our community. If we can accomplish those goals while aggressively challenging the status quo, we will have succeeded.

We try our utmost to keep this compilation as up-to-date as possible however if anything is missing or information that needs updating, please let us know in the comments and we will do our best to update it quickly and accurately.
