HIGH-COMMITTEE.co.uk
High Committee is committed to giving cannabis users a voice, and since we began attending various UK Cannabis Events, we have looked into several cannabis clubs in the UK and our obsession with cannabis continued to grow.
For example, we had the good fortune to be invited to the Brighton Cannabis Club event, where we got to know some wonderful people dedicated to changing the cannabis laws in Britain.
When I tell people about the UK’s cannabis social clubs, I am often, if not always, met with the same reply:
‘We have cannabis clubs here in the UK?’
There's a good explanation for this; for years, these organisations have chosen to maintain their anonymity, especially during the harsher periods of drug law enforcement. Many people will recall using seriously harsh methods, such as beating people found in possession of minor amounts of cannabis, however following the conclusion of the Lambeth Experiment in 2001, during which cannabis was essentially decriminalised for a year, we have witnessed a progressive softening of the harsh cannabis regulations (despite the reclassification of cannabis to a class B controlled substance in 2009). People are more likely to acknowledge to being members of cannabis-related organisations now that the public is better informed about the therapeutic advantages and relative safety of cannabis, a substance that is less harmful than alcohol.
A few cannabis clubs reformed a little more than five years ago with the intention of publicly advocating for the legalisation and regulation of cannabis in the UK. There are already more than 80 clubs across the nation, and the number is expanding. The majority of these clubs host events and activities. Some clubs have their own locations that they rent from accommodating landlords. The majority of clubs have between 100 and 150 active members in addition to thousands of affiliated people. Each club is a distinct legal entity with its own registration as a recognised non-profit organisation, and all surplus funds are invested in the growth of the club and its surrounding area.
Cannabis clubs are becoming more popular in the United Kingdom.
There are 50+ cannabis clubs in the UK where people can debate cannabis growing, medicinal uses, and campaigns to legalise it. Members can use cannabis together and have discussions around things such as CBD, terpenes and cultivation.
Many cannabis club members take their cannabis extremely seriously, and they share plant cuttings and examine various goods in the club setting for contaminants. Many people use cannabis as a medicine and help educate others on which plants are most effective for treating various conditions.
Pensioners, students, bankers, and bricklayers all get together in the clubs to openly discuss their shared hobby.
London Cannabis Clubs leader is named Orson Boon. A health practitioner, he revealed what motivated him to assist in starting a club: "Much of my work has been outside of the UK where I have seen how successful cannabis has been on individuals suffering from all types of disorders. I am aware that marijuana can have negative consequences and can be overused, just like anything else. However, when used properly, it tells a quite different tale, he said.
Like many other cannabis users, Orson no longer combines his cannabis and tobacco to smoke. Instead, he steam-inhales the cannabis after vaping it. The cannabis clubs are eager to promote the beneficial health uses of cannabis.
Cannabis is illegal to grow, own, and sell in the UK yet medical studies have shown that it can be used to treat a variety of ailments, most notably chronic pain. The primary goal of the High Committee is to decriminalize cannabis for adult use and make cannabis more readily available via the NHS for serious conditions.
The secondary goal of High Committee is to make cannabis legal to grow at home for personal use.
Now that you know what a cannabis club is, where can you locate one in the UK near you? We wanted to share this useful guidance about founding or joining a cannabis club with our readers.

Many individuals in the UK might be interested in joining or founding their own Cannabis Social Club. Despite its prohibition in the UK, there is a growing curiosity about what a Cannabis Social Club is and how it functions. While becoming a member of the UKCSC (UK Cannabis Social Club) is not a requirement to start a cannabis club, it can significantly help in promoting and marketing your club for a fee.
The Mission of Cannabis Social Clubs
Our clubs focus on hosting events and promoting the development of a national cannabis community, rather than engaging in the cannabis product trade. We aim to support individual members' endeavors while advocating for a regulated model, legal employment, and freedom to cultivate cannabis at home without interference from authorities.
Joining or Starting a Cannabis Social Club
We believe in the power of collaboration to bring about positive change in the UK's current cannabis situation. Several police departments nationwide have already re-prioritized minor cannabis offenses, and we aim to expand this list as the CSC model develops.
Since our inception in 2011, numerous Cannabis Social Clubs have emerged in the UK, some operating for profit and not adhering to our core principles. It's important for individuals to be aware of the legal risks associated with running such clubs.
Club Operations and Activism
Running a club is seen as an act of civil disobedience and activism. Each UK Cannabis Social Club operates independently, making decisions regarding their calendars, club policies, and level of involvement in activism.
How to Join or Start a Cannabis Social Club in the UK
1. Find Fellow Cannabis Advocates
The first step is to gauge interest in starting a cannabis social club. Ask your social circle for their thoughts on the matter. If you're still on your own in this endeavor, consider looking for nearby clubs to volunteer your time or talents. Additionally, create a Facebook page and reach out to UKCSC to let people know about your goals.
2. Organize a 420 Event
Consider hosting a demonstration against current drug restrictions, preferably outdoors if weather permits. This provides an opportunity for like-minded individuals to meet and join your cause. Don't hesitate to reach out to the media for coverage. Collaborating with organizations like the UPA can also help in organizing events.
3. Create a Cannabis Committee
Formally launch your Cannabis Social Club by establishing a committee, including positions such as a chairperson, membership secretary, treasurer, and members in charge of social media, press relations, and event planning. How you choose to manage your club in the long run is entirely up to you.
4. Engage Your Local Community
Reach out to cannabis-friendly individuals and businesses in your area. Building a network of resources will be invaluable in the long run. Consider local sound systems, music collectives, event spaces, and even private members' clubs that may be willing to collaborate.
5. Convert Supporters into Members
Develop a calendar of events for the year. This allows you to market your future events to both members and guests. Engage with your local community to let them know about your mission and how their support can make a difference.
We hope this guide provides you with a clearer understanding of the goals and strategies of UK Cannabis Social Clubs. Our primary aim is to foster community, have fun, and challenge the status quo. If we can achieve these goals while making a positive impact, we consider it a success.
