Cannabis Strain 'Green Crack': Flavour Chaser Reviews Ep.2

Updated: 6 days ago

Todays victim is nothing other than Green Crack. Probably my 3rd time enjoying this one, and I have had the exact same experience all 3 times, so enjoy.

Originally coined "Cush" by its breeder Cecil C, the strain gained its popular name "Green Crack" from none other than the legendary cannabis connoisseur, Snoop Dogg. The name change was a nod to the strain's potent sativa-like effects, which provide an energetic high akin to a strong cup of coffee.

Awards and Accolades

In 2015, Green Crack earned its well-deserved accolades by clinching 3rd place for Best Sativa at the Denver High Times Cannabis Cup. Its high THC percentage, combined with its pronounced sativa qualities, make it a great choice for seasoned cannabis enthusiasts seeking an uplifting experience.

Effects

This strain brings a smooth, focused energy that's perfect for a mellow day. It's like a gentle nudge to your creativity, great for just chillin' or getting your groove on. Beyond the buzz, it's also a solid helper for those moments when life's stress levels start rising. And the taste? Imagine a burst of citrus sunshine in every hit. So, if you're after a strain that's all about good vibes and positive energy, Green Crack's your ticket to the show.

Flavours and Effects

  • Feelings: Energetic, Focused, Talkative

  • Negatives: Dry Mouth

  • Flavours: Mango, Citrus, Tropical

My Evening with Green Crack: A Personal Account Settling into the calm of a Sunday night, I decided to acquaint myself with the renowned Green Crack strain freshly delivered. Its vibrant green buds, dusted with a fine layer of trichomes, emitted a subtle blend of fruity and earthy notes, promising an intriguing experience. This particular imported batch smells f#cking devine, I haven't medicated all day so I'm itching to go.

With measured anticipation, I carefully prepared a modest amount of my dry herb vape. The first inhalation brought forth a burst of mango and citrus flavours. Very pleasant indeed. Kind of mellow, with a real smooth and soft intake.

As time went on, a subtle surge of energy coursed through me, akin to the invigoration after a decent stroll.. I found myself naturally drawn to tasks that have lingered on my to-do list that I couldn't be arsed to do earlier. I did indeed get quite a lot done last night rather than ending up sprawled across the sofa which is my Sunday usual after my evening smoke.

Green Crack indeed lived up to its reputation, offering a subtle yet effective boost, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a touch of vitality in their evening. It really isn't hard to see why it's so popular. Kind of hard to get hold of though in my experience as it's rarely seen on menus!

Why Did They Call It 'Green Crack?'

Sometimes shock value can be a big asset when naming and marketing strains. Originally called “Cush”, this strain was re-dubbed “Green Crack” by none other than cannabis connoisseur Snoop Dogg after he smoked it (and enjoyed it). Although some still prefer the name Cush to sidestep any unwanted cannabis stigma, the love for this fruity and earthy strain is unanimous. Green Crack’s origins are disputed — originally bred in Athens, GA in the 1970s, it is descended from the ever-popular Skunk #1, but it may also have some Afghani landrace indica in its background. My Take

Despite the weird (and kind of damaging) name, Green Crack is more likely to make you energized and inspired than manic. Providing the best of what sativa varieties have to offer, it’s a great strain for enhancing your appreciation of your surroundings or simply as a way to help you get up and go. It’s also unique in its potency — even for more experienced cannabis fans, a little bit of this can go a long way.

Benefits of Green Crack

The benefits of Green Crack stretch beyond recreational boundaries. Medicinally, it emerges as an ally in managing fatigue, alleviating depression, pain, and anxiety, and overcoming lapses in focus. Its potential to ignite motivation and fuel creativity extends its utility into therapeutic realms, augmenting the well-being of individuals. The terpenes that are in this strain can help boost its reason to be considered medical cannabis. A lot of those terpenes have anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties and also are analgesic, which helps the strain give properties that will help pain relief and chronic pain. Not bad, lets be honest!

Growing Environments and Conditions

Green Crack thrives in a range of growing environments, making it adaptable to both indoor and outdoor cultivation, including the UK climate. Indoors, the strain responds well to techniques like the Sea of Green (SOG) method, which encourages higher yields through close spacing and careful training.

When grown outdoors, Green Crack's resilient genetics enable it to flourish in warmer climates with consistent sunlight. It can grow as high as 6 and a half feet tall with reports of successful grows at this height on UK motorways - although my batch is quite obviously indoor, not grown on some motorway.

Yield Expectations

When it comes to yield, Green Crack has the potential to be quite generous. Indoor growers can anticipate an average yield of around 1.5 to 2 ounces per square foot in perfect conditions. Outdoor cultivation, under optimal conditions, can yield even more impressive results, with each plant producing up to 3 ounces per square meter or more. Keep in mind that factors such as genetics, cultivation techniques, and environmental variables play a role in determining the final yield.

Cultivation Tips

To achieve the best results, it's important to provide Green Crack with a stable and nurturing environment. Maintain even humidity levels and a consistent light cycle during the vegetative and flowering stages, ensuring that the plants receive around 18 hours of light during the former and 12 hours during the latter. Adequate ventilation and airflow are crucial to prevent mould and mildew growth, especially in humid conditions.
